I grew up in a family that played bridge and started playing in high school. I got hooked when I graduated from college and moved across the street from a bridge club in New York that had evening games and so didn’t get in the way of work. After getting married in 1987, I took off 30-years and started playing again after my wife agreed to learn the game. Since then we’ve had great experiences and made a lot of connections through the bridge community.
Professionally, I recently retired from a 45+ year career as an actuary. In part, it’s the behind the scenes math that I really like about the game. I’ve been able to learn from and play with excellent partners and really appreciate their help to improve my game. I think that everyone should have fun playing and encourage your input into what together we can do to expand the game to a wider group.
